Best of Brighton clubbing – Oct 2017

AvalonAVALON EMERSON
Sat 7 Oct
Patterns

This acclaimed seafront venue sees another specially curated night with one of dance music’s ascendant selectors – Avalon Emerson. It’s not easy to describe a DJ who draws from such a wide gamut of influences. One tune could almost be soulful and deep, while the next might be a techno growler which samples an 80s pop classic. Whatever comes out of the box, you can be sure it’s packed with melody and compelling rhythm – so just go along with everything, it will be fabulous.

She’s bringing along the equally open-minded Pangaea, who approaches techno from another direction entirely. Along with a few house tracks, he can throw in tunes which draw from dubstep, swing and breakbeats, to create lively cross-genre mayhem.
