Boho Garden

Located on Kensington Gradens, arguably the city’s most cosmopolitan and colourful street, Boho Garden provides a huge range of goods for anybody looking for something exotic or out of the ordinary.

Although concentrating predominantly on Moroccan-made items this flourishing business also deals in things of beauty from across the whole North African region.

“It started because I travel a lot to Morocco. I’ve got another business that deals in leather goods over there,” explains owner Alistair Terry.  “So I was always building in my head this new shop. I kept seeing all these beautiful things that were making me go: “Wow!”.”

“We go and meet the people that actually make the pieces. We’ve actually designed a lot of the things we sell, instead of just buying them off the shelf.”

This veritable treasure trove of unique and wonderful items on offer includes textiles, fine leather goods and a range of amazing Berber rugs.

The shop not only pays a reasonable price direct to the craftsman that produces their stock, but also elects to sell this stock at a sensible price.  “I can’t see myself not being involved with Morocco and developing things for people over there,” says Alistair. “I wouldn’t call it exactly fair-trade, but we are aware that we are providing an income for around 15 families.”
