Cheap summer activities for kids this August

It’s hard to keep kid’s entertained for a weekend, let alone a six week long summer break…

BN1 are here with a helping hand, selecting some of the simple pleasures and crowd pleasers which are often forgotten and overridden.

Brighton Museum and Art Gallery

It’s easy to forget the history and culture behind your upbringing, which is why at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, kid’s can begin to learn from a young age about where they are from. To engage children and create a fun atmosphere throughout the museum, there are downloadable maps and trails for kids to explore and take part in throughout their experience. Kid’s can learn about Ancient Egypt, 20th Century art and design, pottery, images of Brighton, world stories and more!

What’s more is that Brighton and Hove residents can enjoy free admission to the museum all year round, with proof of address only needed! As well as Brighton and Sussex university students entering free too.

Crazy Golf

Brighton is known for it’s many crazy golfing adventures and it’s a great way to keep a group of kid’s entertained for a few hours! Along the seafront, just up from Concorde 2 is Jungle Rumble Golf offering two 18 hole courses with varying tricks and features, venturing over the high rise and through caves, water and more! It offers a family ticket for 18 holes or 36 holes too!

Another golfing option is Globalls, located at Brighton Marina, which has a jungle or dinosaur golfing course! Oh and did we mention it’s glow in the dark?! Yes that’s right, Globalls has UV lighting and you can buy glow in the dark accessories upon entering for even more fun!

Wander around the lanes

Brighton is filled with intricate lanes, coming from all angles, and quite frankly, not matter how long you live here you still get the streets muddled with one another. Wander around with the kids and enter some exciting new realms along the way. Why not have an afternoon treat at Choocywoccydoodah, or perhaps explore the magical mayhem and mystery at Oliver’s Brighton . You never truly know what you’ll find around each corner!

And of course, the beach

After what felt like a long, and tiresome winter, and now we have been sprung with the best summer weather we’ve had in literally y e a r s, it’s not surprising if you’ve forgotten that we actually live by the sea! Why not spend the day paddling around the water, or burying one another amongst the rocks. Or rent out one of the BTN Bikeshare bikes and enjoy the beautiful seafront, that we so luckily get to call home!
