Take up the challenge, and join the Greater Brighton Cycle Challenge on Sunday 1st July.

As part of the Ride to Work week (12th – 18th March), local homeless charity, Brighton Housing Trust (BHT) have teamed up The Living Coast to create ‘Greater Brighton Cycle Challenge’.

A celebration of cycling and the environment we live in, and helping raise money for the BHT’s First Base Day Centre, supporting local men and women to move away from the streets.

The challenge commences on Sunday 1st July at 7am, at the Preston Park Velodrome, for an all day family-friendly event open to the whole community and people of all abilities are able to join in the challenge, or cheer on the cyclists.

The cyclists join in the ‘Around the World Challenge’ in hope of collectively riding the distance of the world, 40,075km, in only 12 hours.

Family filled entertainment will be scattered across the day, with designated family slots and cycle clubs to revel in the challenge.

If cyclists are up for the challenge, they can join The Living Coast, a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Region, and cycle a 30 or 58 mile route across the South Downs and the coast, starting and finishing at the Velodrome.
