LOVE SICK RECORDINGS
Love Sick Recordings proclaim a definite agenda: to put out music which is equally at home in the bedroom as it is on the dance floor.
This is the softer edge of dubstep, infused with deep house, techno and garage. As a collective of South Coast producers, Riskotheque, Marchmellow and Southbound Hangers, are banking on a more melodic, emotional sound. So far their chosen currency seems to be holding some considerable weight: Since August, Love Sick have been hosting a radio show several times per week on the US based station, iHeartRadio. In addition, Hospital Records, probably the best known drum and bass label, have arranged for Love Sick to host Room 2 at their continually successful club nights, Hospitality. Perhaps most importantly, Love Sick are getting support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Pendulum, Skream and Kode 9. However, it’s a tough, saturated market out there and moments of success will not necessarily translate into an established, bankable brand. Love Sick play Room 2 of Hospitality on December the 10th at Digital. Check out sides 1&2 of Love Sick’s first release by visiting www.soundcloud.com/love-sick-recordings.By Immanuel Guffogg
