Looking out on to the beautiful and iconic sea front of Brighton, Patterns is one of Brighton’s most popular venues, and will be celebrating its third birthday Saturday 5th May. There’s a feeling that this venue has been around much longer than it has, having had such an impact of the music, clubbing and artistic culture of Brighton. The two-floor venue uses its space intelligently either combining the two for a spacious club night, such as Donuts, which despite initial worries about the event moving there from its previous popular location, is a huge success. Yet, the venue can also use each floor for something totally different, whether it’s an immersive underground gig, or a brunch club on the shabby-chic ground floor. The basement has seen some incredible live music, like Shanti Celeste, Gilles Peterson, Skream and live jazz, funk and soul bands and other miscellaneous artists of all genres.
It’s no doubt that with the plans for Patterns 3rd birthday, it’ll be a monumental celebration, and live up to the invigorating party we all know they’re capable of throwing. Beginning at 2pm, the new summer terrace openings will be in full swing, with ATTIC taking over with a selection of DJ’s including Jayne Winstanley and residents Øvre. Not only will there be a load of music to feast your ears on, but until 8pm the sunshine partying, on the beautifully designed terrace by Lois O’Hara, doesn’t stop there. Plant-based pizza pioneers, Purezza, will be providing some of their delicious grub, there will also be a bottomless brunch so suffice your appetite. For cocktail lovers, or even if you just love booze and a bargain, there will be 2-4-1 Aperol Spritz to enjoy.
Don’t worry though if you’re not ready to end the party at 8 pm, the club session begins at 10, and during the day will see Optimo (Espacio) & Jasper James alongside DJ’s Mehtola, Mr Bongo,Ramos & Momo and Sweet Nothings ft. Chris Headcount & Max Milian. The music won’t stop until you do. What’s better, the day time event is free! To get tickets for the club night, visit the Patterns website for more details.
