QED, Brighton’s legendary hard dance night, comes of age

In 1996, QED was Brighton & Hove’s only hard dance night on the weekend, serving up hard house, hard trance, techno and Nu-NRG, introducing local DJs and importing DJs from London’s biggest underground parties. To meet growing demand for the cutting-edge sounds it platformed, it soon went fortnightly, with a few special parties thrown in on top. with a regular crowd of Brighton’s finest and most up for it clientele.

It’s now 21 years on, and QED are still serving up quality local talent. And to celebrate this milestone, they’re once again unleashing some fresh new music and talent for Brighton’s most dedicated party crew. Heading to Al Duomo on Fri 29 Sept, they welcome the sublime sounds of Recoverworld’s Les Oberon and Bioshokk’s Tara Banks.

UK-based Trance DJ and recording artist, Oberon is also head of A&R for the acclaimed Discover Dark imprint. Rising rapidly through the capital’s underground scene in the late 90s, he made his name by blending Techno’s hard edge with the more melodic-sounds of Trance. This upfront sound would see him take residencies at all of the major London underground Trance clubs, including Pendragon, Antiworld and Escape From Samsara, as well as rocking dancefloors across the UK and around the world.

A rising star on London’s Hard Dance circuit, Tara Banks has been delighting crowds everywhere with her trademark funky and uplifting style. Engaging and highly entertaining DJ/producer is a regular at HDM and resident for Limelight at Brixton’s legendary 414 Club. QED’s 21st Birthday Party sees her playing out in Brighton for the first time, so get ready for something special.

Representing the south coast’s hard dance scene this time are the formidable talents of Brighton favourite Laylah, Codesouth FM’s Chris Toxic, X-Cell, and a long-awaited return for local hero, DJ Dusk. Expect a night of top quality music, both old and new, delivered by skilled mixers (yes, there will be vinyl) along with the friendliest and most fun crowd to grace any dance floor. It’s the best party in town for a fiver!

QED comes Brighton’s Al Duomo on Fri 29 Sept 2017
