Europe’s leading vegan festival, Vegfest UK is back in town this month on Sat 27 and Sun 28, at the Brighton Centre. Following a triumphant run in March last year, seeing over 12,000 visitors, Vegfest returns to inspire taste buds and adorn bodies with all things meat-free and plant based.

Already well established, this year’s line-up promises to be bigger, greener and cleaner than ever. Boasting over 200 stalls, there is plethora of mouth-watering delicacies (and plenty of freebies) on offer, ranging from mock-meat Asian cuisine to luscious, leafy creations. For those toying with the idea of veganism, but too scared to go diary (particularly cheese and chocolate) free, there is an inspiring array of alternatives to try. Elsewhere you’ll find veggie friendly clothes, accessories, cosmetics and gifts to buy and sample. However, the weekend promises more than shopping and grazing. Visitors can expect an abundance of activities including cookery classes, children’s activities, lifestyle talks, cinema viewings and even a spot of speed dating.

If you are a meat-craving carnivore, don’t be deterred. The festival is deigned to be inclusive and entertaining with a host of sure-fire crowd pleasers such as live music and bars stocked with vegan beers. The Sunday also hosts the UK’s only Vegan Comedy festival set to poke fun of, and banish, any hippie-haired stereotypes you may have. Whether you are serious about veganism, an eager convert or just looking for a fun day out, Vegfest has something to suit all tastes.
