If there’s any city that knows how to have a great time and do things a bit differently, it’s Brighton. Cocktail bar Be at One in Castle Square did exactly this as local businesses and guests experienced how to make the perfect winter cocktail and get the party in full swing.
National brand Be at One has remixed their ever adventurous cocktail menu this autumn, consisting of over 100 drinks. Some of the cocktail favourites from the new menu go by the names of ‘Erin Rose’ a creamy concoction with a mix of Jameson Caskmates & Original whiskeys, coffee and ice cream, a take on the infamous frozen Irish Coffee “hangover cure” from the Erin Rose bar in New Orleans.
The ‘Banoffee Old Fashioned’ went down hit with ingredients Woodford Reserve Bourbon, white chocolate liqueur, banana syrup and banoffee foam. And not to forget ‘Jet Pilot’ served in a pineapple shaped glass, with two sprays of absinthe! But don’t let this put you off as a delicious concoction of spiced rum and cinnamon syrup gave it a sort of Christmassy feel.
Of course, a delicious selection of cocktails was certainly keeping our spirits up (no puns intended) but the team also hosted a music and lyrics themed night of games including a ‘Have you got what it shakes?’ game getting the whole bar up shaking their cocktail mixers until the last person was standing! Other games involved ‘name that song’ and ‘scrambled lyrics’ a memorable evening for all that attended this first of several VIP Be At One events around the UK this month.
Be At One founder Steve Locke commented: ““As part of the brand’s revamp Be At One Brighton, along with the rest of our leading cocktail bar chain of 33 bars across the UK, will be altering the music choice each night based on our clientele that particular evening. We believe that matching the perfect music with the atmosphere of the bar creates the ideal night out.
As part of our brand shake up we decided that remixing the cocktail menu wasn’t all we could do for the good people of Brighton and our bars nationwide. By introducing new corn plastic straws which are fully compostable and biodegrade in just eight weeks we’re aiming to do our bit for the environment one cocktail at a time!”
An environmentally friendly cocktail? What more could a Brightonian want?
