Big Fun Run 2015

GSi Events have announced 2015’s Big Fun Run. The Run takes place in 18 iconic parks all over the country from Glasgow to London to here in Brighton. The event is aimed at all members of the family.

The run is described by Gsi Events as having “a friendly atmosphere whilst offering an achievable challenge.” Big Fun Run event director Neil Kilgour encourages people of all shapes, sizes and ages to participate in the run as it is about having fun and raising money for a charity of your choice. Kilgour recalls seeing “grandma, mum and daughter” running together, emphasising that this is an event for the entire family. Fancy dress is also encouraged to create a feel good atmosphere.

Last year, over £200,000 was raised for good causes. Big Fun Runner Karen Marshall ran with her family last year including her mother who has stage 6 Alzheimer’s. “We ran with Mum in her wheelchair and she managed to walk over the finish line herself at about the 40 minute mark to huge cheers from the crowd. Everyone was so helpful and supportive.” Katie and her family raised money for the Alzheimer Society.
