This summer, between Wed 19 Jun – Sun 23 Jun, the very first Brighton Comedy Garden will plant its roots within the beautiful Preston Park area, where it will host five nights of the best stand-up comedy, sensational street food, craft beers and summer inspired cocktails.
Comedy lovers in Brighton and surrounding areas can choose from a series of meticulously organised shows, starring comedy heavyweights such as the hilarious Tom Allen, the award-winning David O’Doherty, the viral sensation Rachel Parris, alongside Ed Byrne, Stephen K Amos and Henning When.
And that’s not all, the line-up continues to boast names such as the highly appraised dunderhead on QI, Alan Davies, the multi-award winning Live at the Apollo star Sara Pascoe, the hilarious 8 Out Of 10 Cats team captain Sean Lock and the host of Channel 4’s innovative late-night talk show, The Last Leg, Adam Hills. Each night is undoubtedly expected to be a pot of comedy gold.
This event comes from the comedy-extraordinaire sibling-duo Will Briggs and Cass Randolph, whose previous events, Greenwich Comedy Festival and Bristol Comedy Garden, have been hugely successful and much-lauded. With shows selling out in advance, the bar is set high for their brand-new Brighton Comedy Garden.
Spending the last decade putting together a series of festivals and superb line-ups, Will and Cass have previously mentioned that Brighton has always been one of their dream destinations to put on a festival; with their Greenwich and Bristol shows taking off, this seems to be the right moment to kickstart their Brighton dream.
“Brighton is famous for its vibrant arts and festivals scene, and we hope to add even more quality to that. Perhaps now more than ever it’s good to be reminded of the absurdity and humour in life and our acts have some of the most brilliantly absurd minds in the country,” says Cass Randolph.
The festival promises to provide a Big Top seated venue for their guests, with an array of street food vendors ranging from the Ghanaian goodness in Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, to gourmet hotdogs from Kurbside Kitchen, to Greek grills from 3 Little Pigs, to The Good Slice, whose ethos is to provide a meal for someone in need with every pizza they sell.
Priced from only £20 per person, tickets for the Brighton Comedy Garden are available to purchase from their website now. This festival is expected to take the southeast by storm, so garb yourself a ticket and kickstart your summer with a laugh!
