Brighton Dome marks 5G Festival Showcase with free tickets to see Newton Faulkner

Brighton Dome is offering free tickets to see double-platinum selling singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner at the 5G Festival Showcase taking place on Thursday 3 March from 7pm. This exclusive event celebrates the first publicly accessible showcase in the ongoing £5 million 5G Festival: an award-winning, ground-breaking experimental project aiming to revolutionise the live music industry by creating new opportunities for artists, venues and audiences to experience live performance remotely and in-person.

This unique evening of live music will feature 26 artists located across 3 venues 70 miles apart: in the Concert Hall within Brighton Dome; at London’s Metropolis Studios in Chiswick; and at the O2 Blueroom in Greenwich, London. The audience will witness a collaborative, synchronised, professional music performance across multiple venues for the first time using the power of 5G technology. Artists performing in Brighton and London will be able to collaborate with their fellow performers using hand-held devices and headsets and be heard together. Remote band members will appear live at the Brighton Dome via video and audio link ups, streamed live via 5G networks.

Alongside Newton Faulkner, headliners at Brighton Dome include Brighton-based alt-folk band Memorial, and singers Jess Appiah (Madonna, Michael Kiwanuka) and Sylvie Mwenze (Rag’n’Bone Man, Celeste). Performances at the Dome will be accompanied by state-of-the-art visual projections by MakeAmplify, an award-winning collective of artists and technologists.

Acts streaming live into Brighton Dome from partner venues the Blueroom at The O2 and Metropolis Studios will include rising stars Lola Young, voice of the 2021 John Lewis Christmas Ad; Natalie Lindi, part of the MOBO Unsung Class of 2021; and London-based rock duo The Pearl Harts.
