One of the most-loved, fun-filled marathons in the UK returns for 2017. The stunning Brighton Marathon course begins in Preston Park before descending towards the seafront, round the Royal Pavilion, past The Level and back down towards Brighton Palace Pier. From here, the marathon directs runners past the most picturesque scenes in UK marathon running. Take in the sights of Brighton Marina, passing the British Airways i360, though Hove and finally finishing at the Beach Village near the pier. Standard entries for the marathon are now full but you can still join the fight against cancer, stand up to heart disease or help children in need by running for charity in other events.
For those still training up to marathon-level, sign up for the 10k fun run taking place 45 minutes before the main event. Sat 8 April sees a mini-mile fun run for children and teenagers around Preston Park, and entry is free! An exhibition taking place Fri 7 – Sat 8 April will display running products and offer massages and physiotherapy. And it’s not just the runners who can enjoy this fantastic event by the sea. There are also many other attractions which make Brighton the place to be for this April weekend. The city becomes packed full of entertainment, especially in the ‘event village’ where there will be countless stalls offering food, drink and great music.
