From music legends to rising stars, here are some upcoming gigs and concerts occurring in Brighton this month by LOUT Productions and Form Presents.

Stanmer Park, Wed 5 July

Sir Tom Jones continues to sustain his popularity around the world, captivating audiences with his timeless discography of hit songs and enduring talent and charisma. With a remarkable career spanning over six decades, Jones is widely considered to be one of the greatest singers and recording artists of all time, selling over 100 million records and continuing as an esteemed and influential figure in the music industry. This July, he’s set to deliver a truly unforgettable show in the height of Brighton summertime. Brighton Valley is a brand new series of summer concerts based in Stanmer Park, Brighton near the Amex Stadium.

Stanmer Park, Fri 7 July

This year, N-Dubz fans were treated to news of the band’s hotly anticipated comeback. Dappy, Fazer and Tulisa went on to drop a brand new track, Charmer, along with a string of live arena tour dates which sold out rapidly thanks to huge demand. The London trio rose to stardom in the noughties with hits including Number 1, Ouch and Papa Can You Hear Me. Following their split, and having pursued solo avenues, they’re back together much to the delight of fans. Now, they’re going to be headlining a host of outdoor summer shows and fans can get their hands on the hottest tickets in town now! Presented by Brighton Valley.

The Green Door Store, Sat 8 July

Good Morning is an Australian indie rock duo[1] from Melbourne, Australia. The group began in 2014 with the release of their debut album, Shawcross before the duo released their second EP titled Glory in January 2016. Their latest EP was titled Shameful Thing and was released in July 2022. Their single ‘Warned You’ has racked up 96,747,536 plays on Spotify.

Stanmer Park, Sat 8 July

For the past six years, Paolo Nutini has been learning how to speak his own language. After touring 2014’s Caustic Love, his second UK #1 on the bounce and his biggest chart success to date in the US, Paolo found, in the gap between his late 20s and early 30s, that he’d assembled a musical vocabulary that he hadn’t put into proper use in his own work to that point. Last Night In The Bittersweet is an album of reframed experiences and rewired iconography, where the lurid colours of a neon motel sign or a snatch of dialogue from a movie can mean as much as a heartfelt plea or wrenching goodbye. Experience this in the rolling hills of Stanmer Park, as part of the Brighton Valley Concert Series.

Stanmer Park, Sun 9 July

The last of Brighton Valley Concert Series’ events in July. The all-day party and celebration of disco will see an unmissable line-up including Hot Chip, Horse Meat Disco, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy’ and more. Multiple GRAMMY-winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist – Nile Rodgers is a musical legend, constantly traversing new musical terrain and successfully expanding the boundaries of popular music. As the co-founder of CHIC and the Chairman of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like ‘Le Freak’, (the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records) and sparked the advent of hip-hop with ‘Good Times’. His unforgettable live performances with CHIC have been included in “festival best performances” at both Glastonbury and Coachella resulting in a BBC Music Awards nomination for “Best Live Performance”, putting on a show not to miss.

CHALK, Wed 19 July

Sutherland is coming to CHALK as part of his So Full of Love tour which celebrates the release of his 2022 album Bloor Street. This British-Canadian musician is also an actor, known for his starring role as Jack Bauer in the Fox drama series 24. Musically, it was 2016 when Sutherland released his debut album Down in a Hole which suited the country music genre.

Green Door Store, Fri 21 July

The New Eves are a Brighton based quartet with a unique sound, visual allure, and multi-instrumental talent. They only appeared on the scene in 2022, hence their smaller following, but this band could be the next hottest appearance at The Great Escape 2024 (don’t quote us on it, but we wouldn’t be surprised.) The group consists of Ella (drums, flute, vocals), Nina (cello, guitar, vocals), Kate (bass), and Violet (violin, guitar, vocals). They recorded their debut single ‘Mother’/’Original Sin’ in summer 2022 at Homeward Recording Studios.

The Hope & Ruin, Wed 26 July

The Dirty Nil is a Canadian rock band from Hamilton, Ontario, who won the Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2017. The band consists of singer and guitarist Luke Bentham, drummer Kyle Fisher, and bassist Sam Tomlinson. The band members began playing together in high school, and formed The Dirty Nil in 2006. They released their debut singleFuckin’ Up Young’ in 2011, and began touring North America, performing in clubs and at festivals. Music critics commonly label the band under the punk rock genre. The band mixes the swaggering riffs of hard rock with the attitude and energy of punk. Despite these classifications, the band defines themselves as just a rock band. The lineup at The Hope & Ruin will also feature rock bands Lowlives, and Exit Child.

The Folklore Rooms, Sat 29 July

Introducing an artist on the rise – Irish singer-songwriter Seba Safe who seamlessly combines elements of pop, folk, indie and R’n’B in his sound, and has already gained radio support from Gemma Bradley on BBC Radio 1, KEXP and BBC 6Music, as well as press support from The Irish Times and Hot Press. Now, he’s gearing up to release his blissful new folk-pop EP Rainy, which will land on Fri 30 June, following the release of new single ‘I Wonder’, which is OUT NOW. His UK tour kicks off shortly after the EP release, including a show at The Folklore Rooms in Brighton. Exploring a multitude of themes from a time when the world was in a global quarantine, Rainy is a natural follow-up to last year’s EP, Before I Remember You, taking Seba Safe’s folk roots and expanding on them to present a collection of rich and ethereal songs.
