Tickets for Brighton Open Air Theatre’s hotly anticipated 2020 season will go on sale on Mon 2 March at 10am. Now in its sixth year, BOAT’s varied 2020 programme reflects the progress the theatre has made in its short lifespan.

The upcoming season includes a wide range of productions, including an adult only aerial show (Circus ‘Cision by Head First Acrobats), a children’s classic novel reimagined as a dance piece (Alice In Wonderland: The Ballet by Let’s All Dance), stand-up comedy from local legend and BOAT patron Simon Evans (The Work Of The Devil), and of course, a healthy dose of the Bard, with internationally renowned companies Shakespeare’s Globe (A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As You Like It and The Tempest) and Oddsocks (The Comedy Of Errors) both returning.

With a varied calendar of events, Brighton Open Air Theatre has announced its programme for Fri 1 May – Sun 27 Sept2020I was so happy to see Brighton Open Air Theatre on the tour again this year! BOAT was an extremely special venue to visit,” says Actor Mark Desebrock, who is returning this year with the Shakespeare’s Globe company. “The management, the wonderful volunteers, absolutely everyone at BOAT was warm, welcoming, kind and just as enthusiastic about our shows as we were!

“And to top it off, the audiences were some of the best we had on the road. Can’t wait to return!”

Elli Mackenzie, Creative Producer at Oddsocks, said: “Oddsocks is delighted to be returning to BOAT to premier their latest Shakespeare production The Comedy of Errors.  BOAT’s unique amphitheatre design, loyal audience and supportive organisation provides the perfect venue to open a new production. It is always a joy to play in front of a sea of school uniforms in the afternoon and a warm crowd of families with their picnics in the evening, and the audiences of Brighton should expect another production involving music, mayhem and magic as the madcap troupe roll into town once more.”
