TECH-NOIR
Divino Club

tech-noir-seamus-haji

Brighton’s best underground house and uplifting tech party sees out the last 12 months with a bit of class. Whooping it up with them is local hero, Seamus Haji. Familiar to house heads across the planet, he’s made a name for himself with his immaculate selections. From the soulful to the funked-up and on to electro, he only delivers the finest in big tunes. Joining him are residents Nick Hook and Brody, along with a few sonic surprises. You can see in 2017 with plenty of upfront underground house and uplifting tech, with a few classic, old school and funky grooves thrown in to drive the floor wild. It’ll be packed with an attitude-free crowd, waving goodbye to an odd year with some quality tuneage.

DISCO LOVERS
Fortune Of War

dl-nye-block

After selling out the Speigeltent for both Bank Holiday Sundays during Fringe, hosting some massive beach parties and establishing themselves as THE party on everybody’s lips, EDL are giving everyone a chance to dance off those mince pies. Now it’s a new year and a slight change in name. The party arm of English Disco Lovers is dropping the ‘English’ tag, but they’ll still be dropping some absolute bangers to see in 2017 and another year of awesome parties. The team and ethos remain the same – promoting inclusivity and raising funds for worthy causes through the medium of disco. So, dress up in your most fabulous get-up and get down to the best of classic and underground disco and house music.

KRATER & SPELLBOUND
Komedia

komedia-nye-romesh-ranganathan

Once again Komedia sees in the new year with a bang. Krater Comedy Club will be bringing together some of the biggest stars from 2016, while Spellbound will keep you dancing all night with the best of 80s bangers. Leading the laughs at Brighton’s best comedy venue is the sublime talents of Romesh Ranganathan, Simon Evans and Michael Fabbri, with MC Stephen Grant guiding us through the evening. In Komedia’s main room, DJs Simon Price and Jenna will be delivering the cream of the alternative side of the 80s to a wonderfully mixed audience of people. If you remember it first time round or discovering it all afresh, get ready for a night of awesome alternative 80s all-killer floor-filler anthems all night!

WHERE LOVE LIVES
Patterns

where-love-lives-patterns-midlandbynielsfreidel

Patterns are flying in the face of uncertainty by remembering the heady origins of the house scene this NYE. The midnight slot will see a welcome return from Midland, a talent who’s taken the scene by storm. The Bunker resident and all-round amazing DJ Mike Servito also joins for a long overdue visit, with Charles Green & Mehtola, Pablo Contraband, Wild Fantasy, DJ Faro and Chris Headcount keeping the party pumping. While the basement is getting stripped back to basics, upstairs will serve as a homage to the height of NYC’s late-night entertainment scene – taking it back to where it all began. There’ll be visual countdowns, balloons in abundance, exorbitant drapes, confetti cannons and big mirror balls as standard.

TREATMENT
The Arch

treatment-shot_07_snakehips_1541

To see the year out, Treatment are bringing in a duo who are no strangers to rocking Brighton’s crowds. Snakehips have provided sound tracks to plenty of people’s 2016, and next year will see their ascendancy continue. Since their debut single [On & On] last year, they sold out Village Underground in record time, almost broke the internet with reactions to their remixes for Banks, The Weeknd, and Raury, and attracted a fierce live following. Their core trade sits with feverishly robbing the very best elements from retro soul classics, throwing in a few bits of lo-fi and an uncompromising deep house sound. In terms of music knowledge, sheer confidence, and ability to smash a party, these two have few equals.

WHITE MINK
The Old Market

screenteaser3

White Mink return for NYE with the sounds and style of the 1920s and 30s, all turned upside down and smuggled into the 21st century. Already the hottest vintage speakeasy since the creation of Mickey Mouse, it returns by popular demand to see in the start of 2017 (and the close of 2016) in fine style. Hosted by chap-hop THE quintessential Gentleman Rhymer, Mr B, with Nick ‘Godfather of electro-swing’ Hollywood spinning the tunes. Cut Capers headline; the octet’s unique blend of swing, hip-hop and ska make them one of the most exciting live bands around. Expect an electrifying cocktail of world-class live music, dancers, cabaret and DJs, all making this NYE bash a truly evocative experience.
