British Airways i360 wins Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award
BA i360 has won the Silver category for the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award at the Beautiful South Awards for Excellence, which recognises tourism businesses committed to being sustainable, responsible and ethical in how they operate and interact with customers, the wider community and the environment.
Taking place on Tues 10 Dec at Brighton’s Grand Hotel, the prestigious awards ceremony was hosted by travel journalist and broadcaster, Simon Calder.
Fellow finalists for the award were the Aviator hotel in Farnborough and the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton who both won bronze, and Marwell Wildlife in Winchester who won gold.
This year saw a near record number of entries across 23 categories, which was 40 per cent more than last year. British Airways i360 Chief Operating Officer, Ian Hart, says: “We’re really proud to win this award as our team is committed to delivering responsible operations throughout our business. BA i360 Viewing Tower was built and is operated with sustainability at heart. We generate our own electricity, use only green energy, buy local and dispose of waste responsibly. We’re also a Living Wage employer and support multiple charities every year. It was a wonderful evening, hosted brilliantly at The Grand. Congratulations to all the winners!”

The Beautiful South Awards for Excellence recognise and celebrate the very best tourism businesses and experiences in South East England. The ceremony is held annually to commemorate all of the hard work and achievements made by the flourishing tourism industry in the South East.
