One of the UK’s best-loved festivals, End Of The Road returns for a packed 11th year. With a carefully curated mix of genre defining artists, unique spaces and a wonderful atmosphere, the event at Wiltshire’s Larmer Tree Gardens promises to be more amazing than ever.
This year’s headliners include experimental pop group Animal Collective, who’ll be making their End Of The Road debut, and Bat for Lashes making her first headline solo appearance at the festival. The event also sees the return of American singer/songwriter Cat Power, garage rockers Thee Oh Sees, Swedish collective Goat, and psych-folk artist Devendra Banhart. Further swelling the line-up, Phosphorescent, M Ward, Jeffrey Lewis and Los Bolts, Steve Mason, Field Music, Bill Ryder-Jones, Eleanor Friedberger, Money and Sunflower Bean will be joining them.
End Of The Road have also teamed up with Rough Trade Shops for a fourth CD collaboration. This sees tracks selected by End Of The Road co-founder Simon Taffe from this year’s rich line-up, seeking to capture the spirit of one of the most outstanding festivals in the calendar.
Recent additions to the End Of The Road 2016 line-up include Faris Badwan and Rachel Zeffira’s orchestral pop side project Cat’s Eyes, Virginia-based singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus and baroque popsters LionLimb. Playing her only UK festival since the release of her seminal 2015 album ‘Divers’, the dazzlingly talented multi-instrumentalist Joanna Newsom, will headline with her harp-led sonic odyssey. Playing their first UK show in over four years and their only UK festival in 2016, The Shins also make their first ever appearance at the festival.
Over on this year’s Comedy Stage line up, Stewart Lee will be joined by Bridget Christie, Josie Long, Knightmare Live and Andy Zaltzman performing his Political Animal show. Other highlights include the legendary comedian and Comedy Club host Arthur Smith, along with comedy-writer-turned-celebrity Masterchef Hardeep Singh Kohli, hugely respected and wildly popular Adam Bloom as well as Benedict Cumberbatch’s pal John Finnemore making his debut at the festival.
