Knockhatch Adventure Park is a family play park with a petting farm & owl sanctuary, plus waterslides, rowing lake & soft play. We all know that a Sussex summer is not always sunny, so it is lucky that Knockhatch has one of the largest indoor soft play areas in Sussex. Inside is the Froggies soft play, Lost World Playbarn, and the Dino Drop ride, or Dino Safari simulator. Little ones can also go on the tiny tractors, while children a little older may enjoy the Sherlock Holmes Experience.

On a sunnier day, get outside and enjoy the jumping pillows and climbing wall, mini golf and the dragon castle. There is so much to see and do to ensure no one is bored. But if that is not enough, there are animals to witness and pet too.

Chichester Harbour Water Tours

For a different type of thrill, instead of heading to an adventure park, get a ride on the waves with Chichester Harbour Water Tours. They are the oldest and the original harbour tour company operating from Itchenor, founded in around 1986. One of their tours on offer is a specialised Seal Watching tour. This is a two hour trip cruising around the harbour looking for the resident seal colony (around 46 mixed grey and harbour seals!) Or simply enjoy a trip on the water, taking in the views of Chichester Harbour from a different perspective (only £10pp). If you would like to introduce the little ones to a new experience, why not let them try a  spot of fishing? They offer half day trips for families, younger people who have not been boat fishing before, or full days for the more experienced fisherman. All the equipment is supplied and our experienced skippers are on hand to give you the help you need (£40pp for half day trip). Itchenor, Chichester PO20 7AW

Hove Lagoon

If you want to stay a bit closer to home you have the perfect family summer day out, and a host of water activities, right here in Hove. Discover kids sailing, wakeboarding, and windsurfing too. All sessions are organised by age so that your children are not put straight into the deep end (literally). The kids taster half days are £50pp where they get to attempt all three sports in the space of three hours. Don’t want to miss out on the fun, there are also Family Watersport Day packages available too.

The Family Watersports Days are three and a half hours long and will give you an introduction to windsurfing, sailing and paddlesports. Full instruction and all equipment, including wetsuits, is included. Your instructor will show you how to use the equipment and get you up and going. Should this be something your children become completely engrossed by, send them along to the Summer Activity Week where they can immerse themselves in a whole five days of sports, fun, and team building including raft building and racing, dinghy sailing and kayaking.
