Gin is on the up in the UK at the moment, with new micro-distilleries opening up seemingly every month in the UK, including our very own Brighton Gin. If you’re looking to dig a little deeper into this botanical spirits history then Sussex Wine School have the event for you, with their gin tasting at Brighton’s Hotel Du Vin on April 26.
In this fascinating two hour tasting you’ll discover the origins of this special spirit including where it was first made, which country drinks the most of it (it’s not where you think) and what styles of gin are available today.
Throughout the tasting session you’ll be taking a look at (and smelling) a range of delicious botanicals, tasting six gins from London, Edinburgh, Surrey, Dorset and of course Brighton, alongside four tasty tonic waters including Schweppes, Fentimans, Fevertree and Brighton’s very own Regency Tonic.

This event is run by Sussex Wine School, an independent wine education company who run wine tastings and wine courses in Brighton and Tunbridge Wells.
This gin tasting takes place at Hotel Du Vin, 2 Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AD on Tue April 26 at 7pm – 9pm. Tickets are £27.50 and can be purchased here.
