Home Interiors 2022

Christmas flew by and now January has been and gone too. I don’t know about you, but I still have specks of tinsel hanging from my staircase banister, and am still trying to hoover up bits of glitter from christmas cards. It is safe to say my January sort out has not been overly productive. If you are like me and have not yet had the energy to restack the books on your shelves, or you have not got quite into the swing of meal planning and prepping, here are some interior picks to add to your home to make you feel inspired, organised and motivated through 2022. All of these products are from stores in Brighton so that you can support some independent businesses in the lanes, or pop into the shops yourself to scan the displays and find your own favourite picks for your dream, fresh-feeling home.

Step one to any sort of organisation is to write it down! Whether it is lists of things to buy, where to put what, or you may even want diaries and journals scattered around your house to motivate you to organise your life, not just your home. DOWSE is my favourite for calendars and planners in funky designs and pastel colours. The large calendar can double up as wall art while you keep your plans in order.

Before you start adding items to your home, it is important to get clean and tidy. Here are some quirky cleaning tools which are bound to make tidying your home fun.

Now comes what I would argue is the most important part. STORAGE! There is no better way to feel organised than buying the right storage to put things away in or on. Make it attractive but also practical. Here are some stunning vintage-style storage finds from coffee tables which also double up as a box (no more blankets balled up and thrown onto the sofa), to magazine holders, and utensil shelves to hang in your kitchen.

Once you have got shelves up, and you have your vegetables and milk bottles organised (totally unnecessary but oh so fun and a way to add colour to your kitchen) why not add MORE décor to your living space and walls. A huge clock is essential to organisation and productivity; you have to be on time! Make your own candles to keep your home smelling fresh, and what is more ‘Brighton’ than a print of the old pier, or a seagull head to hold your pencils?
