Anyone with grand designs can talk through ideas for their home with local architects this weekend, during a free RIBA event at Cornerstone Community Centre.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Sussex Branch will run Hove Design Day at Cornerstone Community Centre on Sat 19 Oct. This free, drop-in event will be your opportunity to chat with a range of architects about refurbishing or extending your home – or simply making the most of the space that you’ve got.

Around a dozen architects and designers will take part in Hove Design Day. “Just bring along photos and sketch plans, find an architect you like the look of and get talking” says Paul Zara, RIBA Sussex Branch Chair. “Come with some thoughts – and an open mind as well.”

The RIBA’s Sarah Miller, who is coordinating Hove Design Day for RIBA Sussex points out that whilst architects take you through the design, planning and construction process, their expertise includes ways that these changes to your home could save energy and use recycled materials. “Architects are trained to apply objective, creative thinking which will help you to stretch your budget that little bit further.”

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is a global professional membership body that serves its members and society, in order to deliver better buildings and places, stronger communities and a sustainable environment.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Sussex Branch’s Hove Design Day heads to Cornerstone Community Centre,  Church Road,, Hove BN3 2FL, on Sat 19 Oct 2019 (10.30am – 3pm)
