How to Find the Right Surgeon for a Tummy Tuck Procedure

While dieting and exercise can help some people achieve a tight looking abdomen, it’s not effective for the majority. Because of this, many people who are struggling to get rid of the weight on their stomach look into getting a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, done. Many surgeons offer this procedure; however, finding a surgeon who understands your goals and needs while also having the experience necessary can be difficult. In this article, we’re going to look at some of the things to consider when looking for a surgeon for your tummy tuck.

A Good Relationship

Being able to meet with the surgeon who will be performing your tummy tuck prior to the surgery is important. Not only will this help to build a good relationship, but it will also help to reassure you that the procedure will go as planned. If you have any concerns or doubts about the procedure, you will be able to discuss these with your surgeon in the meetings prior. If you are opting to travel abroad for your tummy tuck, these meetings can happen over video chat.

Tummy Tuck

The Right Price

Unless your tummy tuck is being performed for medical reasons, it will be classed as a cosmetic surgery in the UK and, as such, will not be available on the NHS. Therefore, you will need to look for a private surgeon and pay for the procedure. There are a number of surgeons to choose from within the UK, but you may also want to look at the options abroad too. Fethiye, in Turkey, is a popular option with many Brits at the moment due to the price and the fact that the procedure can be combined with a holiday. “Have your surgery in Fethiye where the sun and sea are dancing as if they are in heaven, ” says Fethiye based tummy tuck clinic Baris Yigit.

Experience

The experience of your surgeon is important. Your surgeon should be able to tell you how many tummy tucks they have performed in the past, and whether there were any complications. They should also be able to show you that they have the skills required and reassure you of this during the initial appointments.

Good Reviews

While your surgeon’s website will likely be full of glowing testimonials, it’s always worthwhile Googling their name as well. If you see a number of bad reviews, this should be a red flag. You can either discuss these with the surgeon in question to see how they respond, or keep looking. Social media websites and chat rooms are great places to find out more about specific surgeons, as well as find recommendations for good ones.

As with any kind of surgery, there are risks involved with a tummy tuck procedure. However, when done safely and correctly, it can make a massive difference to a person’s life and help them regain their confidence. Keep the above advice in mind when choosing a surgeon, and don’t rush the decision.
