Kemp Town Carnival launch party at the Komedia

Kemp Town Carnival returns to Brighton on June 4 2016, after organisers of Brighton’s most popular street festival took a sabbatical in 2015 due to a lack of public sector funding. However, this year is set to be bigger and better than ever, with proposed plans to expand the carnival footprint in order to make way for 6 live music stages showcasing some of Brighton’s leading musical talent. Set in heart of Kemp Town Village, along St Georges Road and its surrounding streets, the Carnival is a wonderful opportunity for many of the local businesses and community groups to showcase their goods and talents.

Several fundraising events are due to take place over the coming months, kicking off with a launch party at the Komedia on Friday 12 February, where 10-piece big band Fat 45, funky & soulful Soul Steppers, Original electronic group Mr Bongo Sound System and the ever positive One Love/The Natural Elements will all be performing from 11pm-3am to put a jump start on the groovy carnival vibes. Tickets are £8/10, with all proceeds going towards raising the £60,000 targeted by Kemp Town Carnival organisers.
