Leefest announces fallow year for 2015

Organisers of award winning music and arts festival Leefest have announced their decision to take a fallow year in 2015. After a period of rapid growth the 2500 capacity festival has outgrown its current venue in South London. The festival is set to move to a new venue in 2016, after a short hiatus.

Festival director Lee Denny says ‘LeeFest has reached another monumental stage in its exciting story. We could move to our new site in a hurry and pull off a reasonable party, but we’re more ambitious than that. The festival is still run entirely by volunteers, despite it’s exponential growth, so we don’t often get a chance to work on the big picture stuff. This is a unique opportunity for us to make LeeFest more sustainable, more creative and even more awesome in the long term.’

LeeFest is best known for its new music line-ups, supporting artists such as Young Fathers (2014 Mercury Prize Winners), Bastille, London Grammar, Clean Bandit and Rae Morris in the early stages of their careers.
