Writer and Guardian journalist Lucy Mangan will celebrate the joys of childhood reading at a one-off event in Brighton this month.
The event, which takes place at 7.30pm on Thurs 6 Sept at Brighton’s Nightingale Room (in the Grand Central) will be chaired by writer and translator David Hahn to raise funds for Sussexbased charity Little Green Pig.
Lucy’s latest book, Bookworm: A Memoir of Childhood Reading is a joyous journey through the reading that shaped her – from Judy Blume to the Railway Children.
She will relive our best-beloved books, their extraordinary creators, and look at the thousand subtle ways they shape our lives.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Little Green Pig’s programme of creative writing projects for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Sussex.
Tickets for Bookworms: Lucy Mangan & David Hahn in conversation cost £10 and are available for purchase here.
