Brighton’s newest label Airdriver Records will host their first launch night virtually this month to help raise money for The Hope & Ruin.
Their inaugural event will take place on Friday 10th July as a live stream, which will be available to watch via The Hope & Ruin’s Facebook page.
Rishi Saluja, founder of Airdriver Records, said: “As we launch into the industry we want to support a venue which has been so instrumental in our own musical upbringing.
“We can’t throw a physical launch party, so we’ve assembled four incredible acts from Brighton and beyond who will each perform a (virtual) set, from lockdown.”
Fans of the venue and music lovers alike will be encouraged to donate money directly throughout the evening.
The live stream will feature four performances from some of the city’s up-and-coming bands and DJs to support the popular venue as part of the #SaveOurVenues initiative.
Artists on the line-up include Junodream, Hove Society, Gene Pool and Cousn who will each perform a set for the fundraiser.
The coronavirus crisis has posed a great threat to the live music industry, with venues across Brighton and the country at risk of closing permanently without financial support.
Airdriver Records is Brighton’s newest music label backed by a multitude of diverse creatives and industry veterans, dedicating to support the local music scene.
When lockdown restrictions are relaxed, the label hopes to run a monthly party and support a diverse range of artists in Brighton & Hove and beyond.

Junodream is no music scene newbies, touring and recording extensively since their inception in 2017. Their bittersweet songs “help exorcise your demons”, and with over 3m Spotify streams they are quickly becoming one of the UK’s favourite indie/alternative bands.
As the founders of Airdriver Records, Hive Society will be premiering their debut double A-side single ‘The Exchange / Warped’. Recorded and produced entirely in lockdown, the result is a woozy, melancholic yet punchy record which is a genuine product and representation of the bizarre period in which it was recorded.
Brighton-based Gene Pool conjures their own unique blend of dark, cosmic storytelling. Their track ‘Television’ off their sophomore album ‘Space Inside’ was chosen as Track of the Day by The VPME blog. The band have firmly established themselves as a local favourite through their energetic live shows.

Producing an eclectic mix of disco, house, acid, breakbeat and punk, Cousn’s raw and high energy sound has bagged them sets at The Warehouse Project, Printworks, Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party. They hold a regular slot on London’s Rinse FM and have produced remixes for the likes of Elder Island and Robbie Doherty. Cousn will be closing out the party with an hour-long DJ set.
