Zachary Levi, Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer star in this 12th superpowered instalment of the DC Extended Universe. Billy Batson can transform into incredible superheroes by saying “Shazam!”, bestowing them with the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury.

Billy, along with his foster siblings, are forced back into action when the Daughters of Atlas threaten to use a weapon which could destroy the world. There’s also the small matter of travelling to make peace with the Gods, because Billy has been taking their powers for granted. Naughty.

Fri 24 March

Woody Harrelson, Cheech Marin and Casey Metcalfe bring us an inspirational sports movie to warm any heart. A former minor league basketball coach is compelled to manage a team of players with complex educational needs. It’s based upon a 2018 smash-hit Spanish film called Campeones, which was in turn inspired by the true story of the long-running Valencian Special Olympics team, Aderes.

Directed by Bobby Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene), the film features an authentic cast of performers, many making their feature debuts. This gentle comedy sees a hapless series of missteps, but soon everyone realises that if they work together, almost nothing is impossible.

His path to freedom and peace involves defeating a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe, and forces which turn old friends into foes. Strap in tight, it’s going to be wild.
