Brighton’s Footshooter appears with Slam The Poet on Thurs 25 Feb, at Brighton’s Bluebird Tea Shop in the North Laine. The styles of this young producer vary around a constant focus on rhythm and percussion, drawing influence from the grooves of Afrobeat, Hip Hop, Footwork and more to create a blend of ear-catching beats and smooth, Jazz-inspired chords. His DJ sets reflect this pattern, featuring anything from 1960s Rare Groove all the way through to Detroit House and Broken Beat from London. Representing South East London’s Mad Vibes Collective (MVC) and having just signed to Brighton’s Headcount Records, there’s also a new EP set for release on Fri 18 March.
