Graham Owen had a dream of making something different, something immersive, something adventurous. After many years of planning and organisation, six months of making, and millions put into a project that will join the Brighton attractions scene, comes a theatrical experience like no other.
Phileas Fogg’s World of Adventures is a world-first experience, taking audiences back in time to the late-17th century.
Inspired by the famous Jules Verne novel Around the World in Eighty Days, the theatrical event is designed to appeal to audiences of all ages, from 7 to 70. There will be two available experiences to choose from: one catering for families and children, and one slightly darker and more challenging option for adult groups and parties.
Set in Sussex House in Hollingbury, the old police station has been transformed into a magical world by Brighton-based design team, Craft Work. The design team have worked on some huge blockbuster sets such as Star Wars: Episode VIII, Skyfall, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Pirates of The Caribbean and many more.
Soon, visitors will be able to accompany the eccentric explorer Phileas Fogg as he attempts to win a £20,000 wager while evading the law. The feature will include theatrical actors, special effects, puzzles, escape room style challenges and 16 incredible settings. Audiences will be transported from the streets of Brighton to various historical surroundings such as Ancient Egypt, The Arctic and The Wild West. Graham Owens commented about how the couple are excited to “bring an experience that can compete with London attractions to the town.”
Additional to the main event, there will be a themed bar, billiard room, lounge, boardroom, and tea garden, all beautifully designed to capture the word of Phileas Fogg. Tickets are available from Fri 14 Sept, as well as a physical box office located outside Brighton Railway Station. There will be limited parking on site, but there are shuttle buses that will take you to and from the park, via the station.
