Zak Black’s Verve Couture Variety Show returns to Proud Cabaret on Tues 7 June, with a fantastical mashup of drag, burlesque, gymnastics, aerial and twisted disney singalongs.
Loved by critics and audiences alike, Black has consistently proved himself to be the ultimate provider of the very best in extreme entertainment over the course of his twenty year career.
Voted the number one variety show for three years running while it was on the West End, Black will provide fresh insight for Brighton as to what global performance artists are currently achieving at the highest level.
The night is to be endorsed by The Terrence Higgins Trust, the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK. Verve Couture will also be raising funds for the charity, aiding them in their support and empowerment of people living with HIV.
Performers include Doctor Woof, perhaps most recognisable for his televised audition on the X Factor – but it’s his flamboyantly endearing personality that has seen him take the cabaret word by storm in recent years.
Violet Blaze, an award winning international burlesque performer will also be taking the stage. Fresh off a performance alongside Lady Bunny at Werq the World in London, her impossibly energetic dancing will set the tone for the evening.
Mademoiselle Lavelle will be giving a modern take on the traditional circus performer while Miss Disney will be attempting to bring back some of that childhood joy by singing all your old favourites.
For the diversity and talent it puts forward, it’s clear why there is no other variety show today with such an established presence. For dinner, a complimentary glass of process and the show, tickets are just £40. For show entry and table only it’s £20.
