How would you describe the work you’re bringing to Brighton Fringe?
We’re making drag accessible to young people and giving them a safe and creative way to explore and discuss all things drag. We believe there is a gap at Brighton Fringe for an interactive and inclusive drag themed event with the aim to empower the young LGBTQIAPP+ community.
What do you hope audiences will take away from the show?
We want everyone to leave the event feeling positive about themselves, with a more informed view of drag culture. Our goal is to raise awareness and broaden our audience’s perception towards the art, and encourage them to attend similar events in the future.
What do you think makes Brighton Fringe special?
Brighton Fringe is special to us because it’s the most inclusive and exciting festival in the UK. It’s allowed us, a group of students, the opportunity to be a part of something amazing and to plan a show that we believe is needed in the local community.
Pride To Youth: Drag It Out comes to Brighton Unitarian Church on Sat 3 May (7-10pm) as part of Brighton Pride 2019
