Purezza to open third UK restaurant in Hove this summer

Award-winning vegan pizza restaurant Purezza will be launching its third site in Hove at the end of the summer.

Purezza has begun work on its second pizzeria in the city on the site of the now-closed Patisserie Valerie near Palmeira Square, hoping to open by the end of August.

The two-floor restaurant will serve up its famous 100% plant-based dishes, also offering a range of unique cocktails, tempting starters, and a full gluten-free menu.

Tim Barclay, co-founder and co-owner of Purezza said: “2020 was always set to be a big year for Purezza, and whilst the Coronavirus crisis was an unforeseen challenge, it won’t affect our plans.

“Purezza is a growing brand, but our home has always been Brighton & Hove.

Before looking at national expansion, we’re proud to be able to give some of our most dedicated customers a brand new beautiful space in Hove to enjoy.”

Their new restaurant will be fitted with reclaimed and upcycled furniture, using eco-friendly and organic paints.

The vegan pizzeria first opened its doors in 2015 on St James’s Street and has rapidly received critical acclaim, achieving National Pizza of the Year in 2018.

After a wealth of attention in the summer months causing queues and three-hour wait times, the new location hopes to alleviate this pressure while also providing delivery services for Hove and Portslade.

Purezza launched its second branch in London in 2018, which has since tripled in size, now making its Camden site the largest vegan restaurant in the UK as of this year.

The restaurant has become a household name among vegan and vegetarian foodies, with diners travelling from all over the world to eat there.

They have become well known for their use of raw ingredients, including raw tiramisu made using finely blended cashew nuts, and a full raw pizza using a base made with seeds and nuts.

Purezza specialises in plant-based alternatives to classic Neapolitan pizzas by transforming Italian food through cruelty-free ingredients.

They are currently in the process of opening a plant-based cheese factory to continue to develop their own brand of vegan cheese.

Purezza launched its first recipe book in January 2020.
