Now that I’ve had time to recover from the sun burn and the aching belly muscles, I can fully appreciate the wonderful week of live comedy that just burst into Brighton!
The jaw-dropping array of headliners included Dara Ó Brian, Russel Howard, Sara Pascoe and Tom Allen. All worthy of the £25 ticket price alone, but you got 4 for the price of 1 with the Comedy Garden! No wonder it sold out.
Preston Park played host to the comedy festival again after a phenomenal first year in 2019 but with a few very well thought out Covid safety measures in place. The Big Top of 2019 was swapped for an outdoor stage and seating area – an added bonus really as the sun finally decided to make an appearance!
Seating was arranged in groups, so you and your mates could have your very own socially distanced giggle bubble (or “gubble” as I call them). That also meant you could order drinks direct to your seats without having to wander around the site. G&T delivery, yes please!
The sun was shining and the atmosphere along with it – you could feel joy in the air. Not surprising really, who doesn’t need a bit of comedic relief right now?
If you are feeling like you missed out (you kinda did) then you have one last chance to catch this ridiculous line up at that ridiculous price – check out Greenwich Comedy Festival, running from 15th – 19th September!
