Outdoor Cinemas 

Whether you are looking to enjoy a classic film caressed by the gentle sea breeze or sat on a picnic blanket among the fresh grass, Brighton has got you covered. Throughout the summer, Brighton is offering their annual outdoor cinema both at the Luna Beach Cinema and at Preston Manor. These are perfect for when you don’t want to miss out on the summer heat but also want to cosy up and watch an iconic movie with your favourite people. The days and times of the screenings will be listed on the cinema’s websites. From oldies like Grease to newbies like Bohemian Rhapsody the open cinemas will give you a chance to pick and choose the best movies for you!

Pub in the Park 

This three-day feast will have you drooling and wanting more. It gathers the best Michelin-starred chefs from all over the country to serve their gloriousSummer activities - - Pub in the Park 1 dishes at the beautiful natural venue. The park will serve as the greatest beer garden you have ever seen. Pub in the Park will also host a number of pop-up pubs and restaurants as well as artisan shopping booths and tasty beverages! For all you music lovers, there will also be a main stage with endless live music from amazing performers to get you up and dancing all night long. What else do you need? Lagoon Water Sports

Beat the summer heat and get some exercise with the Hove Lagoon Watersports! This fun activity can be done with both friends and family and is a great way to stay cool and make some amazing memories. Woodland Festival

This festival embodies everything that the woodlands have to offer! Incredible entertainment will be provided for both the adults and the little ones. The lineup will be the best it has ever been! Along with some return guests, there will be a range of new independent and extremely talented artists. For the children there will be a large number of fun arts and crafts activities and more! This event will revive the child in all of us, with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, it is a chance to relax and reconnect with friends and family. On top of everything, it raises money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Macmillan Cancer Support. Secluded in a beautiful setting, it is the perfect festival to unwind.

Moon Landing’s 50th Anniversary 

If you’re looking to do something different and unique with friends or family, why not make it a celebration? Come and enjoy a range of activities all dedicated to the first man to set foot on the moon. St Richards Catholic College in Bexhill is offering scientists, artefacts and a lot more! This free event is fun for everyone and will allow you to have your picture taken on the moon, view the sun and moon like never before, and witness plenty of NASA related videos and stalls for your entertainment! To top it all off, you get your very own commemorative badge on your visit!

Chichester Festival

Claiming to be best the one yet, this month-long all-round celebration will make you fall in love with the town of Chichester all over again. With a line-up of over 200 events for this upcoming summer, it will be one to remember. Featuring all kind of music events such as classical, jazz, pop and more, this unique festival will also focus on the overall importance of the arts. A non-stop month of talented musicians, actors, poets and musicians performing just for you. Any day you pick will be sure to be filled with vibrant artists that light up the city!

Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow 

This annual event taking place in August over the course of 4 days, is a free air-show along the lovely Eastbourne seafront. It offers ground displays,Summer activities - - Airbourne Day 1 - by Graham Huntley vast military exhibitions and involvement, and whole lot of flying. It is a beautiful aerial performance which will make for a great day out. On top of this, the event welcomes people of all ages to enjoy some amazing live music entertainment on the beach. There will also be a children’s play areas, so adults can catch a break and enjoy the show as well as helicopter pleasure flights and the stunning firework display!

The Brighton & Hove Summer Book Fayre

Join the Brighton Unitarian Church for another exhilarating and inspiring literary event. This book ‘fayre’ aims to make writers and readers connect in a more personal and relaxed environment. It is a celebration of literature and the written word. This event unites all book genres from horror, history, fiction and non-fiction to teen fiction, children’s books, LGBT books and more. It’s a great chance for you to connect and discover independent authors as well as traditional published authors. Plus, it’s a free event! So whether you’re a book nerd or a wannabe reader, this is a fun event for you.
