Sundara Karma come to Patterns

Reading four-piece Sundara Karma are getting ready to release their new single ’A Young Understanding’, on Fri 25 March via Chess Club / RCA. To warm us up for this, the band are playing a show at Brighton’s Patterns on Sat 27 Feb.

The new single is taken from their hotly anticipated debut album, which is due for release this summer. A deliciously urgent, adrenaline charged rush, it underlines Sundara Karma’s reputation as one of the most exciting young bands to emerge in recent years. Led by charismatic frontman Oscar Lulu, Sundara Karma are masters at crafting bright, panoramic in- die rock that deals with young romance and a yearning to escape small town mundanity. Having spent 2015 firmly establishing themselves as ones-to-catch on the live circuit and festival tents, their captivatingly intense live shows have truly won the hearts of their crowd, building a dedicated cult teenage fan base. New single ‘A Young Understanding’ perfectly demonstrates another reason for their fan’s unwa- vering affection, Oscar’s arresting lyrics and obliquely dark subject matters pushing their widescreen anthems into strange new worlds. In the words of Oscar Lulu:

Following a recent string of dates across Europe supporting grunge-poppers Wolf Alice, the band will now be going out om their on their biggest tour to date, as well as joining Nothing But Thieves on their April tour.
