Sussex will open their 2015 LV=County Championship campaign against the two newly promoted sides to Division One.

The Ageas Bowl will be the destination for Sussex to play Second Division champions Hampshire from Sun 12 April, before The County Ground’s first LV=CC action of the season sees Worcestershire visit Hove a week later.

Sussex County Cricket Club face Middlesex in the second home Championship match of the summer in mid-May, with Warwickshire also visiting the south coast later on in the month in the four-day competition.

The first one-day action of the season at Hove will take place on Sun 17 May as the Sharks face Gloucestershire in the NatWest T20 Blast, two days after Sussex will have opened their T20 Blast campaign against Kent at Canterbury. The group stages then run through until Friday 24th July when the Sharks head to face Surrey at the Kia Oval.

The Arundel Festival of Cricket in mid-June will kick-off with a mouthwatering T20 Blast clash against Surrey before an LV=CC affair with Durham. The Horsham Festival follows in July as Nottinghamshire visit Cricket Field Road in the LV=CC, and Lancashire in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Three more 50-over matches will follow at Hove before four-day cricket returns in late August as reigning champions Yorkshire are the visitors during peak summer holiday time.

In addition Sussex will host a floodlit international T20 match for the first time when England play Australia at the end of August as part of the Women’s Ashes NatWest Twenty20 series.

Sussex County Cricket club Chairman Jim May said “We have an exciting fixture list and it is very pleasing that we have an even spread of home fixtures throughout the summer. Sussex is one of the few counties that hosts out-ground cricket and it remains vital that local residents and businesses support our Festivals to ensure that we are able to continue playing at Arundel and Horsham.

“On the playing front we have a very competitive squad. We have a number of players, including Matt Prior, returning from injury and they will be supplemented by our new signings, Ajmal Shahzad (pictured) and Tymal Mills, under the excellent leadership of Ed Joyce. We are looking forward to the 2015 season with great optimism.”
