Brighton Marina

The Best of Brighton Marina

Most people flock to Brighton’s beach when they come to visit us, squeezing onto the sand and leaving lobster-coloured. The Laines are lovely too, but often busy at weekends, instead locals know that the marina is where it’s all happening, particularly of an evening. Strolling along the boardwalks, having a nosey at all of the stunning yachts is the perfect way to work up an appetite for some evening entertainment and perhaps a little food. So, once you’ve taken in the boats, it’s time to begin on our must-do list of Brighton Marina.

Play At The Rendezvous Casino

A couple of games at the casino is never a bad way to start an evening and the marina has a pretty special venue to do just that. The Rendezvous Casino is a relatively recent addition to Brighton’s burgeoning casino scene, but it is already a hit with locals and holidaymakers alike. The Vegas-themed casino offers a range of table games and slots and makes the perfect spot to round off your evening. For those who’ve not played casino games before, it can be a good idea to get a little practice in beforehand so that you know the rules and feel confident in your abilities. Playing at an online casino is a good way to get to grips with slots and table games ahead of your visit. Firstly because you can take advantage of bonuses that are only available online and secondly because there’s nobody to watch you if you forget the rules for a moment.

Eat At Skara

The souvlaki at Skara is truly delicious

There are loads of great restaurants at Brighton Marina, in fact, that’s probably the biggest attraction to this part of town. We recently reviewed The Watershed and really enjoyed it, but for this guide, it’s time to head somewhere else, Skara. This restaurant aims to bring a slice of sunshine Greece to the Brighton waterfront and it really delivers. The white and blue colour scheme, as well as freshly pressed tablecloths, immediately reminds you of traditional Greek decor, but it’s the food that is really special. Despite being the largest Greek restaurant in the UK, Skara is family owned and serves fresh, delicious food. The Greek shrimp saganaki comprises of grilled prawns drenched in a rich tomato sauce, flavoured with a touch of Ouzo for that extra kick. The souvlaki is also a popular menu item, with a selection of grilled meats to choose from, all served with a fresh pitta bread, salad, homemade tsatziki and crispy chips.
