The Best Places in Brighton for Irish Visitors

If you fancy travelling from Ireland to England but don’t know where to visit, you would be well-advised to check out what Brighton has to offer.

The seaside resort has become a vibrant destination in recent years, offering visitors a ton of different ways to entertain themselves.

With that in mind, we recently toured the city and viewed it through Irish eyes to determine the best places for people from the Emerald Isle to visit.

The Fiddler’s Elbow

If you are partial to a pint of Guinness and enjoy a bit of Irish craic, the Fiddler’s Elbow is character-packed pub you will not want to miss.

It boasts the type of Irish charm that none of the big chain pubs can hope to match, with its vibrant atmosphere blowing them out of the water.

The Fiddler’s Elbow stages live music throughout the year and hosts some of the biggest summer parties around when the sun comes out.

With well-priced food also available, this stunning little pub is a venue you will keep going back to every time you visit Brighton.

Rendezvous Casino

If you are partial to playing games at online casinos in Ireland, you will undoubtedly love the burgeoning gambling scene in Brighton.

The Rendezvous Casino is the pick of the bunch, with the seafront venue offering a vast array of popular casino games and other entertainment activities.

It is home to some of the best poker action on the south coast of England, making it the perfect place to test your skills against talented players.

With the on-site Waterside Restaurant providing all your food and drink needs, the Rendezvous Casino is a place that will keep you occupied for hours on end.

Brighton Racecourse

If you are one of the many Irish people who loves horse racing, you will be pleased to know Brighton boasts one of the most picturesque racecourses in the United Kingdom.

Situated on Whitehawk Hill just one mile away from the coast, the venue hosts flat racing fixtures from April through to October.

The track set-up is fairly unique, with its horseshoe shape and undulating nature making it a tricky test for horses and jockeys.

The stiff uphill finish generally produces thrilling finishes, with the complexion of races often changing massively during the final furlong.

Brighton & Hove Albion FC

We stick with a sporting theme for our next recommendation in Brighton and its one which Irish football fans should absolutely love.

Our visit coincided with the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season, where Brighton & Hove Albion faced newly promoted Luton Town at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls produced a power-packed performance to record a 4-1 victory, with the highlight of the day from an Irish perspective saved until the 95th minute.

Hugely promising Irish striker Evan Ferguson netted Brighton’s fourth goal from close range to crown an exciting afternoon of top-class football on the south coast.

Patterns Brighton

Patterns Brighton is one of the top live music venues in Brighton, offering visitors a wide programme of events throughout the year.

We experienced one of their Friday Foundations parties – an immersive rave adventure featuring some of the top underground dance music artists in the UK.

A return visit is on the cards later this year to check out rising indie stars The Royston Club, who have been making waves on the festival circuit this summer.

The Wrexham four-piece are set to embark on their biggest ever headline tour and their Brighton gig promises to be a sweaty celebration of indie music.

The Harbour Spa

If our previous recommendations have left you feeling a little worse for wear, our final suggestion will soon have you restored to tip-top condition.

We spent our final night in Brighton at the sumptuous Harbour Spa – a thoroughly chilling venue where nothing is too much trouble for the welcoming staff.

The Scandinavian hot tubs in a wine cellar are a particular delight, while the expert massage therapists have the power to transport you into another world.

You can round things off with a meal in the fantastic restaurant, before contemplating whether actually want to leave Brighton to return to Ireland!
