Not everything has to cost money, and there are plenty of free activities to enjoy in our exciting city.

Watch the sunset on Brighton beach

The sunsets in Brighton can be beautiful. Wrap up warm one evening and head out with a friend to watch the sun go down over the ocean. Sit near the old Pier for an atmospheric view.

Go for a walk in Stanmer Park

Stanmer Park, located near the University of Sussex, is a vast green space set within rolling hills, open to the public. Go along with a picnic, take a football or go for a long walk. Explore Stanmer village if you get the chance, to look at the pretty 18th Century cottages and Stanmer House.

Wander around the Lanes

Have a browse in the great collection of quirky shops in the Lanes. From jewellery and clothes to sweets and confectionary, there’s something for everyone. Try Choccywoccydoodah to take a look at some artistic chocolate creations.

Visit Snoopers Paradise

Snoopers Paradise is most certainly a paradise for snoopers. It’s the most renowned flea-market in the South of England with over 90 different stalls offering a vast range of antiques, jewellery, vintage clothing and collectables. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s an experience just to see what they have in stock.

Find the beach huts in Hove

These colourful beach huts are fairly iconic in Brighton and Hove, and will definitely put a smile on your face. Take a long walk along the beach until you come across them, and take some arty pictures

Go to the Level

A Green Flag award winning open space, The Level is one of Brighton’s busiest parks. Go along with kids to enjoy the play area, or check out the skate park and table tennis tables for some outdoor activity.

Check out the street art

Brighton has earned itself a reputation for its stunning and original graffiti, spread out across the city. Visit the North Laine, London Road, North Road and Trafalgar Street to spot some good finds.
