The festival for new music is returning, bigger and better than ever before. In response to the growing numbers of festival-goers and continual hunger for even more of the newest talent, The Great Escape has announced it is creating its very own 2000 capacity festival site – right on Brighton beach.

Adding to the festival’s family of 30 incredible venues, the brand-new festival site will be home to two music stages to watch the very best new artists.  “With demand and drive for new music and an ever-expanding festival, creating our first, very own festival site on the beach is the most exciting news in TGE’s history and we couldn’t have a more perfect spot than right on the seafront,” said Rory Bett, MAMA Festivals’ CEO. “The Beach will become a magnet for music lovers during the festival and we can’t wait to open the doors.” Curated by the greatest music tastemakers around, the beach site will be jam-packed with the most, sizzling, sought after upcoming artists.

As venue partners, Island Records’ heavyweight artist roster has a reputation second to none – from nurturing the likes of Sigrid and JP Cooper to Nicki Minaj, Dizzee Rascal and Sean Paul, the beach will undoubtedly be buzzing with the next generation of label talent. And after one of the most exhilarating shows at The Great Escape 2017. Other beach partners include AWAL and Dr. Martens with many more to be announced very soon. All artists TBA but be sure to expect a few surprises.

The Great Escape’s news doesn’t end there. Even more artists have been announced. Everyone is talking about Superorganism one of the most intriguing bands around, who formed only last year are a buzzing, secretive eight-piece from across the world, Tom Grennan is returning for his second festival, he’s been building his ever- growing fan base with his distinctive soulful voice and indie flair.  Also returning to the festival is Nifuler Yanya, who turns heads with her guitar-driven R&B songs and making his debut is singer-producer Tom Tripp, who’s swiftly gaining millions of streams and support from the like of NAO.

The Great Escape is proud to partner with Brighton-based much-admired charity FareShare Sussex, who believe no good food should go to waste. They prevent perfectly edible food from ending up in landfill by redistributing surplus from the food industry to over 100 charities and community groups supporting vulnerable people across Brighton and Sussex, delivering around 10 tonnes of food every week to people that need it most.

“We are so thrilled to be working together with the Great Escape,” said FareShare Sussex’s development manager, Rachel Carless. “As a small charity it is really exciting for us, making a real impact boosting our profile as well as raising much-needed funds to keep up our work.”
