The Black Cat Cabaret and The Old Market have revealed the full line-up for their Halloween cabaret extravaganza, which is being headlined by cult Rock ‘n’ Roll outfit, Tankus the Henge (pictured).
Joining the funk-fuelled band will be a variety of cabaret, circus and musical acts, all with a distinctly gothic-theme. There will be performances by aerialist and contortionist Samantha Smith, sideshow fire-breathing pig Chrisalys, a mirror-dancing gothic burlesque show with The Creepy Twins and live opera from the operatic living doll Lili La Scala. The whole evening will be hosted by the ‘dark prince of the London Cabaret scene’, Dusty Limits.
“After the success of our Salon Des Artistes Valentines Special at The Old Market back in February, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome back Black Cat Cabaret to Hove for this special Cabaret extravaganza,” says Mark Gordon, Marketing Manager at The Old Market. “If you have enjoyed events with the likes of Copperdollar and White Mink, you’ll love this. Be sure to don your best Halloween outfit and come join us as we dance until we raise unholy Hell!” The Haunted Ballroom takes place on Thurs 31 Oct – Fri 1 Nov. The encouraged dress-code is ‘Regency splendor / gothic horror / morbid glamour.’
The Old Market is an independent, high quality live theatre and venue in Brighton & Hove. They aim to encourage the presentation and production of performance arts, by handpicking shows. Their specially-curated programme focuses on presenting innovative storytelling in theatre, new, challenging and relevant comedians, and pioneering bands and musicians.
The Black Cat Cabaret brings together exceptional acrobats, comics, dancers and singers, to create a spectacular new bohemia in every venue they visit. Originally inspired by the absinthe-soaked heyday of Montmartre as well as Edwardian London’s glamourous cabaret underworld, their shows have taken several forms and formats, but will always combine the sophisticated and the unexpected.
