Why You Should Capitalise on Seasonal Offers for Your Business
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Pinterest

As a business owner, it is important to be aware of how you can take advantage of certain dates and holidays throughout the year. You are never too far away from some kind of significant day in the calendar and these present opportunities for businesses to promote their brand and capitalise on times where consumers might be more likely to make a purchase.

Getting Dates in the Diary

A good place to start is simply by getting a calendar and noting all of the dates where you could run promotions and engage your target customer. A few of the main ones worth highlighting include:

  • Valentine’s Day
  • Pancake Day
  • St. Patrick’s Day
  • St. George’s Day
  • Mother’s Day
  • Easter
  • Father’s Day
  • Halloween
  • Bonfire Night
  • Bank Holidays
  • Christmas

Once you have highlighted these key dates, you can then start to plan promotions and think about the best way to take advantage of these dates throughout the year.

Offer One-Off Promotions & Discounts

Seasonal holidays and one-off days throughout the year can also be a good time to run one-off promotions and discounts. People are often looking to spend during these times of the year, so by running a promotion or discount they are more likely to choose you over the competition. Of course, this means that you need to think about demand and inventory to make sure that you have enough. If you run a salon and are running discounts for Mother’s Day, for example, then you will want to stock up on nail salon supplies to keep up with the increase in demand.

Tailor Your Product Offering

You can then start tailoring your product offerings for these dates. This can be a smart way to create some excitement, form a stronger connection with your customers by humanising the brand and also creating a sense of urgency as they know that these products will be for a limited time only. If you have a physical or even an online store, you could think about ways to decorate, too.

Create Content

It is also a smart idea to create new content around this time and to share it on social media so that you can promote your business, stay relevant and engage your target customer. The key is to consider your target audience and to embrace the theme for the particular day, so on Valentine’s Day you will want to focus content on how you can help the consumer to have a romantic day.

Hopefully, this post will inspire you to think about the special days and holidays throughout the year and how you can take advantage of them. Essentially, these days give you a window for promoting your business and attracting customers so you will want to do all that you can to timetable promotions and find the best ways to capitalise.
